Beer Cocktails

Beer Cocktails

Beer cocktails are a pretty niche category of drink; I’m usually in the mood for a beer or a cocktail but rarely both. These recipes changed my mind.

EQUIPMENT

  1. Cocktail set (includes Boston shaker, jigger, bar spoon, hawthorne strainer, fine mesh strainer, julep strainer, muddler, cocktail picks)

  2. Fine mesh strainer

  3. Angled measuring jigger

  4. Citrus juice squeezer

  5. Collins glass

  6. Beer glass

Grapefruit Shandy

  • 1 oz (30ml) sloe gin

  • 0.75 oz (22ml) fresh lime juice

  • 1 oz (30ml) fresh grapefruit juice

  • IPA beer

  1. Add all ingredients except beer to a shaker tin with ice

  2. Shake for 15 seconds and double strain into a chilled beer glass

  3. Top with IPA to taste

Cervezaroni

  • 0.5oz (15ml) blanco tequila

  • 1oz (30ml) Campari

  • 0.5oz (15ml) blanc vermouth

  • 5oz (150ml) Mexican lager (such as Pacifico)

  1. Add tequila, Campari, and vermouth to a chilled collins glass

  2. Top with beer and give a quick stir

  3. Add ice

Bitter ein Bit

  • 1.5oz (45ml) Amaro Montenegro

  • 1.5oz (45ml) fresh pineapple juice

  • .75oz (22ml) fresh lemon juice

  • 0.5oz (15ml) simple syrup

  • Pilsner beer (ideally Bitburger)

  1. Add all ingredients except beer to a shaker tin with ice

  2. Shake for 15 seconds and double strain into a chilled beer glass

  3. Top with Pilsner
