The perfect Sidecar

It's been 5 years of making videos for this channel and I've never done the classic Sidecar! A wonderful sour cocktail with a heavy dose of curaçao, the sidecar represents on of the core cocktail templates. After I make the perfect Sidecar I'll show you a couple tasty variations on it.



EQUIPMENT

  1. Cocktail set (includes Boston shaker, jigger, bar spoon, hawthorne strainer, fine mesh strainer, julep strainer, muddler, cocktail picks)

  2. Angled measuring jigger

  3. Coupe glasses


Sidecar

  • 1.5oz (45ml) Cognac

  • 1oz (30ml) dry curaçao

  • .75oz (22ml) fresh lemon juice

  • .25oz (7ml) simple syrup

  1. Add all ingredients to a shaker tin with ice

  2. Shake for 15 seconds

  3. Strain into a chilled coupe glass

  4. Garnish with a lemon twist


Pegu Club

  • 2oz (60ml) dry gin

  • .75oz (22ml) Cointreau

  • .75oz (22ml) fresh lime juice

  • 1 dash Angostura bitters

  • 1 dash orange bitters

  1. Add all ingredients to a shaker tin with ice

  2. Shake for 15 seconds

  3. Strain into a chilled coupe glass

  4. Garnish with a lime wheel


Champs Élysées

  • 2oz (60ml) Cognac

  • .5oz (15ml) Green Chartreuse

  • .75oz (22ml) fresh lemon juice

  • .5oz (15ml) simple syrup

  • 1 dash Angostura bitters

  1. Add all ingredients to a shaker tin with ice

  2. Shake for 15 seconds

  3. Strain into a chilled coupe glass

  4. Garnish with a lemon twist
